Franklin Hammer's Obituary
Franklin G. Hammer, 82, of Clinton, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Mercy Living Center, South. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00am to the service time at the funeral home. Franklin Glenn Hammer was born on July 16, 1926 in McCausland, Iowa, the son of Frank and Mayabelle (Farber) Hammer. He married Marian Hudson on February 12, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa. Franklin attended the DeWitt Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corps from 1946-1948. Franklin was a tool grinder with Waukesha Motors in Clinton for 37 years retiring in 1988. Franklin was a member of the Clinton Bowling Association, enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family especially with his great-grandchildren. Franklin is survived by his wife Marian of Clinton; one daughter: Linda (Michael) Paschka of Clinton; one grandson, two great-grandchildren; and one brother: Donald Hammer of Clinton. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
