Franklin A. Butt's Obituary
Franklin A. Butt, 84 of Garden Plains, Illinois passed away Sunday, June 17, 2024 at MercyOne - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Roland Vandereide, Joseph Vandereide, Jonah Lutz, Ron Koehn, Cindy Heilmann and Richard Smith. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the service time at the church. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is honored to serve the Butt family.
Franklin Augustus Butt was born May 27, 1940 in Havana, Illinois, the son of Harold and Verna (Siltman) Butt. He earned his Masters Degree in Council and Guidance from Western Illinois University. Frank married Carolyn A. Smith in Elvira, Iowa on October 30, 1965.
Frank taught shop class at the Fulton High School from 1994 to 2010 when he retired. Before that he taught 7th grade at Chadwick Grade School and then social studies at Fulton Middle School.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed carving wood and was an avid bike rider.
Frank is survived by his wife Carolyn Butt of Garden Plain, Illinois; sister Margaret Landgrebe of Cuba, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
