Frank J. Gelhar, 88, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Park Vista – Camanche.
Private Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Entombment will be in the Davenport Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Frank J Gelhar was born on August 23, 1930 in Hancock, Michigan, the son of Frank and Louise (Merkling) Gelhar. He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955. He married Elaine Gabel on November 23, 1954 in Long Beach, California.
Frank was a barber for 24 years.
Frank was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Frank is survived by his wife: Elaine of Clinton; his daughter: Sheri (Don) Bodkin of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, a son: Rick (Lori) Gelhar of Clinton; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Ralph Gelhar of Waukegan, Illinois, Harry (Kathy) Gelhar of Zion, Illinois, sisters: Mary Lou Himes of West Bend, Wisconsin, and Monica (Laurance) Plaskan of West Bend, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
