Frances Thomsen's Obituary
Frances I. Thomsen, 89, of Clinton died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, November 13, 2009 at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Chapel, Clinton, IA. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, where a 4pm vigil service will be conducted. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Frances was born March 4, 1920 in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Marie (O'Neil) Roman. She was a 1939 Clinton High School graduate. She had been employed at the Clinton Garment Factory, Nielsen's Clearing House, Espey Jewelers, and at Lehman's Auto for several years. She married Harry J. Thomsen June 8, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; he died August 17, 1983. She was a member of Prince of Peace, was active with the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, was a volunteer at the thrift shop and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Kay (Steven) Voss of Morrison, Illinois, 4 grandchildren, Chris (Laura) Voss, Brad (Stef) Voss, Ryan (Steph) Voss and Diana Voss; 3 great grandsons, Teagan, Jacob and Kaden and her brother Kenneth Roman of La Crosse, WI. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lawrence. Memorials may be made to Sarah Harding Home or Prince of Peace.
