Frances L. McKenrick's Obituary
Frances L McKenrick, 93, formerly of Moline, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Fieldstone in DeWitt, Iowa. Services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com
Frances was born September 16, 1930, the daughter of Walter Lyle George, Sr., and Edith E. (Hendricks) George. She married Clyde D. McKenrick December 23, 1949, at Low Moor Methodist Church, Low Moor, Iowa. Frances resided in Low Moor, Iowa; Naperville, East Moline and Moline, Illinois; and most recently in DeWitt, Iowa.
Frances was raised in Low Moor and attended Low Moor Elementary and Clinton High Schools, graduating in 1948. She had been employed at Iowa Mutual, Nelson Cashway Lumber, Clinton Corn Processing and a law firm in Chicago before retiring in 1990.
Frances was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Moline, Illinois. She previously was a member of the Low Moor Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Women’s groups in Low Moor and Moline, holding numerous offices in those organizations.
Frances is survived by her children, Beth E. Morrison of Rock Island, Illinois and Gary D. (Kathryn) McKenrick of Low Moor, Iowa; grandchildren, Trisha A. (David) Hey, Brian K. (Erin) McKenrick, Patrick (Jami) Morrison, Richard Morrison, Amy Morrison, and Ann (Blake) Morrison; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Catherine) George; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her husband, two children, and a great-granddaughter.
The family deeply appreciates the care Frances received from Genesis Hospice and the caregivers at Fieldstone. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
