Rest In Peace, Skip.
Floyd lived with his Grandparents down the street from me and we both started school at Lincoln School around 1950. Floyd and I had a lot of fun growing up in Clinton - We both played the trumpet in Jr High and High school. We both went our separate ways after High School. I haven't seen him since 1991 when he went to my father's calling hours. My brother would send me copies of some of his newspaper articles and they were always interesting reading.
I'm very very sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to Dawn and all of Floyd's family.
I never met Skip in person but had many email conversations. Luckily, he posted comments in an online forum of a local paper and I was able to find him. I always knew I had an uncle 'Skip' but never knew much about him. Over the past year, he gave me so much valuable information and insight into my extended family. And, lots of great pictures.
Thanks again Skip. I'm sorry you had to go.
Skip was Truly My Brother best friend. confidante, and fellow "asspain".If we could irritate someone who deserved it, we talked about it and did what we said we'd do, and that's one of the things we did best. We rode together, trusted and loved each other as only Brothers could. My heart is with Dawn, his lovely wife and "litle sister" to Me.Wherever he is they'd better watch out, a REAL man is coming their way! Skip, gonna miss the fun we had, SEMPER FI Gunny PACO! (private joke)
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Dawn, Megan, Axel and Jason. I did not know that Skip has a brain tumor. My daughter was diagnosed with one 2 years ago. She has had lots of treatments and right now is doing ok. Skip will be missed. I always enjoyed visiting with him at the restaurant and definitely will miss his letters to the editor. Sorry I cannot attend the funeral but I will be out of town.
