Flossie C. Palmer's Obituary
Flossie C. Palmer, 96, of Davenport and formerly of Camanche, Iowa, died Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Iowa Masonic Home, Bettendorf. Private graveside services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with services. Flossie was born January 22, 1923 in Live Oak, Florida, the daughter of Benjamin and Vera Smithie. She married LaVerne “Swede” Vincent Palmer May 17, 1947 in Davenport; he died March 31, 1995.
Flossie was employed at Woolworth’s and Kmart. Most recently she had been employed with her daughter at Metal Tech in Clinton, retiring in 2015.
Survivors her children, Karen (Jeff) Enslow of Donahue, Iowa; Iris (Jim) Palmer and Steve (Jane) Palmer both of Davenport; three grandchildren, Nicole Gaither, Benjamin Kuster and Andrew Palmer; six great-grandchildren, Leilah, Isabella, Brennin, Rosalyn, Lilliana and Aydan; and sister, Betty Heirs of Chiefland, Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy and brother Herman.
