Florence Burkert's Obituary
Florence G. Burkert, 88, of Clinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Mercy North, Clinton. Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Nathan Burkert, Brian Burkert, Dillon Naeve, Collin Berry, Scott Berry and Mike Jones. Florence was born June 21, 1923 in Bennett, Iowa, the daughter of Louie and Marie (Fuller) Walters. She was a 1940 LeClaire, Iowa High School graduate. She was employed as personnel Assistant at International Paper Company for more than 20 years retiring in 1988. Florence married Herbert Burkert on June 20, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa; he died October 10, 1965. Florence was a member of the Women of the Moose and was past president of the State and Local Jaycettes. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Countryside and spending time with her family. Florence is survived by her son, Dr. Louie L. (Terry) Burkert of Lanark, Illinois; daughter, Sherri A. (Richard) Naeve of Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren, Deyenna D'Ambrose, Dillon Naeve, Sarah Berry, Nathan Burkert and Brian Burkert; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nicole, Collin, Ashley, Jackson, Grahm and Lila and three nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and her parents.
