Fern L. Todtz's Obituary
Fern L. Todtz, 92, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Genesis – Silvis.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Fern LaVonne Jurgensen was born on July 27, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Petersen) Jurgensen. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. She married Lawrence Todtz on June 16, 1959 in Clinton; he died May 24, 1978.
Farming was Fern’s love and farmed with her husband in Camanche her whole life. She was a clerk at PFC for several years and also worked at Von Maur and Farm Bureau. She was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was being around family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone she met.
Fern is survived by her children: Nan (David) Horst of Sabula, Sunde (John) Unger of Camanche, and Lewis (Julie) Todtz of Des Moines; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren and her sister: Ardelle (Tom) Wiebers of Camanche. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and a step-son.
Memorials can be made to the Clinton County 4H Foundation.
