Faye Irene Reynolds was born on July 18, 1931, in Clinton, Iowa, the oldest daughter of Cyril and Marica L (Weiss) Reynolds. She attended Calamus Grade School in addition to two different one-room country schoolhouses, then going on to graduate from Clinton High School Class of 1949. She later attended Clinton Community College.
Faye married James H. Bull on November 6, 1949, in Clinton, IA. For 62 years they shared their love of dancing. They enjoyed roller-skate dancing at Fox Roller Rink, square dancing at Pikes Peak, and especially loved ballroom dancing at the Coliseum, Modernistic, and Fairyland Ballroom.
Jim and Faye devoted their life to raising their three children (Wilson, Kim and Rick) tending the farm, and growing the cattle business where Faye managed the bookwork and secretarial duties. Jim passed away on July 18, 2011- a day forever marked by love, as it was also Faye's 80th birthday.
In addition to being the bookkeeper for the farm and cattle business, Faye stayed involved in many other aspects of her community and life. She was a Realtor with Bob White Realty, a member of PEO Chapter JW, Women of the Moose, Clinton Country Club, Valley Oaks Country Club, The 49ers Noon Luncheons, Girls Night Out, Saturday Breakfast at Jenny's, Prairie Hills Thursday Bridge Club & the Boat Club Bridge. She enjoyed the stage shows at the Clinton Show Boat, and the children's activities in 4H. She was a member of the PTA where she especially loved being a Room Mother and was passionately devoted to the First Church of Christ Scientist in Clinton.
Faye & Jim vacationed with their children, enjoying museums, family reunions with aunts, uncles and cousins, family get-togethers and holiday meals. They appreciated traveling to different countries and visiting islands and eventually planted their winter roots in McAllen, Texas where family and friends would visit and they spent their time golfing, playing tennis, bridge, attending various shows, the movie theatre, and shopping.
Faye is survived by her children: Wilson (Judy) Bull of DeWitt, Kim Scott of Cedar Rapids, and Rick (Kim) Bull of Clinton. Five grandchildren: Jim (Tiffany) Bull of Clinton, Jessica (Sam) Rhatigan of Cedar Rapids, Ryan (Jessica) Scott of Toddville, Brett Tornow of Madison, Wisconsin, Lucas Tornow of Door County, Wisconsin; Six great-grandchildren: Amelia & Wilson, Jaedyn & Hadley, Aslyn & Krayton; Two sisters: Connie (Jerry) Bennis of Clinton, and Sandra Schoephorster of Shoals, Indiana; and 5 nieces and 1 nephew. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one brother at birth, a sister-in-law: Marion Fowler, and her brother-in-law: Donald Schoephorster.
To have known Faye, was to be loved with great conviction. She lived each day with a genuine display of gratitude in her heart and allowed it to serve as her guiding light. The legacy she imparts to her family and friends is the greatest gift of all - the enduring truth that: “God loves us - and so does she.”
Memorials can be made to Clinton Show Boat, or Camp Courageous of lowa.
