Faith Ann McDonnell made her transition from this earthly plane to heaven early Sunday morning surrounded by family and friends. She was showered with love and prayers during this illness and sudden death. It was an honor to be with her and support her during this process. People have described her as a very strong, kind person who was an excellent nurse. She had a great wealth of knowledge that she willingly shared, but she always wanted to make sure that you did it the right way.
Faith O’Shogay was born June 7, 1949 in Hayward, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (DeMarr) O’Shogay. Faith graduated from DeWitt Central High School and Graduated from St. Anthony’s School of Nursing. She was motivated at a young age to succeed and paid her own way through college. Faith met her husband while she worked at Don’s drive-in as a car hop. She was smitten with his quick wit, zest for life, and flare for colorful language. Faith married Joseph McDonnell on September 19, 1970 in Villanova, Iowa at St. Patrick’s; he died January 6, 2009.
Faith was employed as a registered nurse and house supervisor at Jane Lamb and Mercy Hospital in Clinton for more than 45 years. She retired in March of 2016 and was able to spend more time with her grandkids, just as she had always wanted. Faith loved cooking, hosting family gatherings, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a blessing to all who knew her. We will honor her memory by celebrating her life and cherish the memories of our family.
Faith was a member of Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Indian tribe in Hayward Wisconsin.
