Eugene Stremlow's Obituary
Eugene Kenneth Stremlow, 86, of Clinton, IA, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from Noon to 2:00 PM. Private burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, in Lincoln, NE. Pallbearers will be Wayne Nixon, Steve meeker, Ron Izer, Louie Ronnfeldt, Larry Humphrey, Donal Dierks, Sylvester Richter, Leroy Meyer, Ed Jepsen, George Salser, Richard Eggers, Robert Alt and Bud Chandler. Gene was born on April 15, 1922, in Clinton, IA, the son of Albert and Teresa Rice Stremlow. He married Edlora R. Menke on September 3, 1954; she preceded him in death. He was a WWII United States Marine Corps Veteran. Gene was employed in the construction field his entire life. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, AMVETS, American Legion and the VFW. He was an Avid golfer. Survivors include his daughter, Terry (Kent) Shuster of Holland, MI; grandson, Michael Storey of Zeeland, MI; nieces and nephews, Ed Stremlow, Jeff Stremlow, Debbie Stremlow, Mark Stremlow, Terry Stremlow, Jody Hardy and Bruce Stremlow. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold, Bill, Bobby, Ed, Roy, Johnny, George and sister, Sylvia. Memorials may be made to the Eagles Club.
