Eugene L. Ottens' Obituary
Eugene L. Ottens, 93, of Clinton passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at Davenport Lutheran Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Harding, Kevin Harding, Jim Brown, Ed Drummond, and Dana Jewell. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 am until the service time at the church. Eugene Lawrence Ottens was born July 18, 1928 in Patterson, New Jersey, the son of George and Nellie (Johnson) Ottens. He was a self-employed painter for 43 years when he retired in 1990. He married Edith Jewell on September 11, 1946; she preceded him in death on October 31, 2019.
Gene was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where he and his wife ushered for 53 years. He was a kind soul and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters: Diana (Richard) Weissenberger and Brenda (Ed Drummond) Brown; four grandchildren: Jeff (Cheryl) Harding, Kevin Harding, Jim (Sarah Hickey) Brown and Jennifer (Shun) Ammons; four great-grandchildren; his two sisters: Joann Banker of Clinton and Marilyn (Wayne) Wilke of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Davenport Lutheran Home in support of resident activities.
