I'm so sorry for your loss. You probably don't remember me, I'm Bill's step-daughter. I'm the small dark-haired musical one, not the big blonde. I didn't get to spend much time with Gene, but remember him from Bill's funeral and the stories he told. I hope things will get easier for you in time and that you have good memories to cherish. Dear Hazel,
Reading Gene's obituary Monday morning brought two emotions - first of all, the sadness of his passing; the second, the pleasure that so many of us have had in knowing him for so many years as a classmate and friend.
The photo of him showed the smiles and humor he found in life and shared with those who knew him, wherever he was, hard at work or relaxing.
He will really be missed by many of us "'43ers". He, and you, were always at our reunions, including the 65th in October.
How blessed you are to have the large family to share in the wonderful memories and to comfort one another.
I'm sorry we will not be able to attend the visitation and beautiful Rose Criox service. Our prayers are with you all.

We know that he will be looking out for us from above and having a good laugh or two watch us learning the camping skill, he was a great teacher hope we can keep up with his lessons. what a great guy. I am thankful we were able to see you and Uncle Gene recently at Josh's wedding. Uncle Gene will be greatly missed! I have many good memories of him that I will always cherish. One always comes to mind at this special time of year. Every Christmas growing up, we looked forward to the "envelopes" on the tree from Uncle Gene & Aunt Hazel, not to mention the delicious can of chocolate covered almonds! It was always a special treat-
