Eugene C. Koranda's Obituary
Eugene C. Koranda, 87, of Camanche, Iowa passed away, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Air Force. Serving as pallbearer will be Aaron Kyarsgaard, Ken Fahlbeck, Lance Schaefer, James Alderson, Mike Merdian, and Zach Howell. Visitation will be from 11:00am to the service time Monday at the funeral home.
Eugene Curtis Koranda was born on January 23, 1935 in Calamus, Iowa, the son of John and Esther (Agnew) Koranda. He was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from 1957-1959. He married Georgia Campie on November 29, 1961 in Clinton.
Eugene was a pipefitter for many years at Clinton Corn. He also worked various other jobs including Economy Coating and the Cordova Power Plant. He enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and garden, and was known for his tomatoes.
Eugene is survived by his wife: Georgia of Camanche, three sons: Richard Koranda of Davenport, Daniel (Sherri Zirbes) of Clinton, and David (Coleen) Koranda of Davenport; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
