Eugene Forbish's Obituary
Eugene C. "Gene" Forbish, 79, of Clinton, Iowa died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton. Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, January 8, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory where a 7pm vigil service will be conducted. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jason Dopson, Andrew Temple, Brandon Dopson, Derek Temple, Nate Kreinbrink and Ken Jager. Gene was born September 11, 1930 in Colby, WI, the son of Gordon and Elvira (Guenther) Forbish. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Dopson September 6, 1980 in Clinton, IA. He was employed at Ralston Purina in maintenance, retiring after 36 years. He was a United States Army 101st Airborne veteran, serving in the Korean War. Gene was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Forbish of Clinton; son, Charles Forbish of Lexington, KY; daughter, Barbara (Randy) Knight of Fulton, IL; four stepsons, Dan (Debra) Dopson of Clinton, Scott (Julie) Dopson of Fulton, IL, Steven (Mary Jo) Dopson of Clinton and Thomas (Paula) Dopson of Clinton; stepdaughter, Danette (Marty) Temple of Naperville, IL; two granddaughters, twelve step-grandchildren and eleven great step-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond (Sherry) Forbish of Spring, TX and Thomas (Shirley) Forbish of Marshfield, WI; and one sister, Joyce Pevytoe of Wausau, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
