Ethel Winter's Obituary
Ethel L. Winter, 79, of Clinton, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday March 9, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will follow in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Adkisson, Sam Adkisson, Corey Sweely, Travis Steele, Don Winter, and Robert Winter. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Gabriel. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Ethel Lorraine Crowe was born on June 12, 1932 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Bostich) Crowe. She married Harold L. Winter, Jr., on September 22, 1971 in Davenport, Iowa, he died on October 10, 2005. Ethel was a clerk at Gateway Credit Union in Circleville, Ohio, and also was a sign language interpreter for many years. Ethel was a member of Gateway Baptist Church, enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed sign language. Ethel is survived by four daughters: Sharon (Jeff) Flint of Sheridan, Indiana, Vicky (Dale) Weber of Camanche, Debra Webb of Camanche, and Jody (Lee) Sweely of Clinton; one step-son: Robert (Jean) Winter of Clinton, and two step-daughters: Jane (Delvin) Shepherd of Goose Lake, and Karla (John) Singer of Clinton; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; two sisters: Emagene Louise (Clifford) Smith of Dobbins, California, and Edith Loreta Newman of Garden City, Michigan; and her beloved dog Solo. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons. Memorials can be made to the Gateway Baptist Church.
