Ethel Nave's Obituary
Ethel L. Nave, 93, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Big Meadows Nursing Home – Savanna, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Osborn, Dylan Osborn, Norman Wernick, Traci Foley, Ashley Foley, Trinda Colschen, Troy Schoenfeld, and Travis Nath. Ethel Lucille Nave was born January, 10, 1922 in Racine, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo Clyde and Emma (Hazelton) Ames. She married Robert Peters on April 12, 1940 in Minnesota; he preceded her death in April 1964. She later married Max Nave; he preceded her in death in September 1982.
Ethel worked for Jim Walter for over 25 years. Along with being a hard worker and working until she was 82 years old, she enjoyed playing bingo at the Eagles Club, listening to country music, and crocheting.
Ethel is survived by a daughter: Margaret Foley of Savanna, Illinois, a son: Robert (Kathy) Peters of Redland, California, a step-daughter: Marian Shippee of Camanche, Iowa, two daughter-in-laws: Kate Peters of Fulton, Illinois and Carol Hutchins of Clinton; a son-in-law: Bruce Schoenfeld of Myrtle, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, a son, two daughters, a granddaughter, and a grandson.
