Erik Johnson's Obituary
Erik Johnson, 57, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, September 2, 2019 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services will be 11:00am Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Following the visitation his body will be cremated. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Costello, Johnny Sommerfelt, Ray Hickey, Bob Reed, Elliot Johnson. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Clayton Erik Johnson was born on July 24, 1962 in Clinton, the son of Merlin and Vickie (Mangler) Johnson. He was a 1981 graduate of DeWitt High School.
Erik was a union carpenter with Local 678 for 31 years.
Erik enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed gambling and playing poker. He enjoyed watching car races and Sylvester Stallone movies.
He is survived by his significant other: Sheila Starry of Marion, Iowa; his siblings: Steven Johnson of Camanche, Linda (Dale) Smith of DeWitt, Todd Johnson of Camanche, and Elliot Johnson of Syndey, Australia; several nieces and nephews, and his step-dad: Carlye Evers of Low Moor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Merlin, Jr.
