Emmalou Darline Culver was born on August 14, 1940, in Green Island, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Olive (Clark) Culver. She was a 1958 graduate of Onslow High School, and married Lester Langrehr on August 9, 1958, in Clinton, Iowa.
Emmalou’s very essence centered around her faith and family. She touched countless souls through multiple areas of ministry throughout her lifetime as a Sunday School teacher, as well as in Women’s and Children’s Ministries. She was a tremendously devoted wife and mom. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, tending her flowers, reading and cleaning. Regardless of how far she had to travel, she would be found in the stands cheering on her grandchildren in their activities.
Emmalou is survived by her husband Lester of Clinton; two daughters: Darla (Darwin) Neff of Clinton, Lisa (Darrin) Hull of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren: Kristinia Hicks of Wisconsin, Cameron (Holly) Hull of Arkansas, and Matthew Hull of Springfield; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter on the way; a daughter by heart: Carla Monteiro-Batistella (Mauro) of Brazil; three siblings: Ronald Culver of Clinton, Kenneth Culver of Albany, Illinois, and Ronda (Kevin) Johnson of Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Charles.
Memorials can be made to Kingdom Builders at River Church or Teen Challenge.
