Elmo Shuey's Obituary
Elmo H. Shuey, 87, of Camanche, IA, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Services will be held at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Camanche, IA. Pallbearers will be Jim Neumann, Don Sager, Aaron Costello, David Endersbe, Brandon Smith and Ron Rueter.
He was born on October 9, 1920, in Boone, IA the son of Walter and Dorothy (Collins) Shuey. Elmo was a WWII United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Clinton AMVETS and the Camanche American Legion. He was employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years. Elmo married Wanda Shirlene Worley August 8, 1978 near Roswell, NM; she died April 2, 2004.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Endersbe of Clinton; Denise Sager of Clinton; Diane (Jim) Neumann of Camanche; grandchildren, David Endersbe, Aaron Costello, Sarah Neumann, Samantha Neumann and Alysia Sager; great granddaughters, Ariah Endersbe and Rylan Newcomb; brothers Kenneth Shuey, and Robert Shuey both of Boone, IA; sisters, Beverly Klamm of Boone, IA and Lois Aides of Ankeny, IA; and his nephew, Elmo Hansen of Boone, IA. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Endersbe.
