Ellen Benson's Obituary
Ellen L. Benson, 93, of Davenport, formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Genesis West Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12:00pm to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Ellen was born October 16, 1914 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Clyde E. and Clara Young Willits. She married Harold Benson March 25, 1931 in Morrison, Illinois; he died March 6, 1993. She was a homemaker. She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include daughters, Mary Utsinger of Davenport, IA; and Susan (Rick) Lawson of Elkhart, Indiana; son, Steven (Sue) Benson of Elizabethtown, KY; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; a sister, Susan Kennedy of Clinton and brothers, Robert Willits of Florida and Edward Willits of Clinton, IA.
