Ella Tullberg's Obituary
Ella O. Tullberg, 81, of DeWitt went home to be with the Lord and her beloved Gene on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at her daughter’s home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Robert Lynn, Andrew Vickers, Nick Vickers, Philip Vickers and Edson Hoffman. Ella Olive Mahon was born on June 14, 1930 in Monroe County, IA, the daughter of William J. and Alta (Richie) Mahon. She married Eugene Theodore Tullberg on October 15, 1949 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Moline, IL; he died on July 17, 2001. Ella was a homemaker. She was previously employed at G.E. and also worked as a secretary for several doctors offices for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was very active in the church’s sewing circle. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing and many craft projects. She was an avid reader and kept close to her family and friends through the lost art of letter writing. She is survived by two daughters, Christine (Steven) Lynn of LeClaire and Connie (Matthew) Vickers of DeWitt; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert Tullberg and four brothers. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
