Ella Heinsen's Obituary
Ella Heinsen, 96, of Clinton died Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Prehn, Milton Steege, Werner Steege, Dale Wulf, Edgar Ross, and John Mueller. Ella Anna Marie Gremmels was born on February 9, 1912 in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Charles and Christina (Wehrspann) Gremmels. She was a 1928 graduate of Maynard Consolidated High School. She attended and graduated from Iowa State University in 1932 with a degree in Child Development. She married Herman C. Heinsen on October 12, 1933 in Des Moines, IA; he died on January 11, 2007. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Iowa PTA. She is survived by 3 sons: Donald Heinsen of Newbury Park, CA, Edward (Shirley) Heinsen of Granite Bay, CA, and Robert (Jane) Heinsen of Ankeny, IA; 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Herman, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries.
