Elizabeth A. "Betty" Zirkelbach's Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) Zirkelbach, 91 of Yorba Linda, CA died peacefully at her home, September 28th, 2014 with her Loving family by her side.
Celebration of Life services will be held, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2 PM at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 9 PM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
She was born January 21, 1923 in Clinton, Iowa and graduated from Clinton High School in 1941. She married John J. Zirkelbach on November 24, 1941 in Kahoka. Missouri.
She was the daughter of the late, Ida A. (Campie) Byers and Jerry Wesley Byers. She is survived by her son John (Bill) W. Zirkelbach his wife Marla Raskin Zirkelbach of Placentia California, her daughter Judith (Judy) E. Lawrence her husband Robert (Bob) H. Lawrence of Yorba Linda, CA. She had 6 Grandchildren: John R. Zirkelbach his wife Holly, of Bedford, NH; Robert P Zirkelbach and Chelsea of Brighton, CO: Matthew R. Lawrence and his wife Melissa of San Antonio, TX; Alicia A. (Lawrence) Fabrisi and her husband Timothy of Brownsburg, IN; Michael Gantman and fiancé Molly of Chicago; and Jillian Gantman of Chicago. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, Teryn Reinking, Emily Zirkelbach, Jordan Fabrisi, Tyler Lawrence, Hunter Zirkelbach, and Jake Lawrence.
Elizabeth expanded her immediate family with her caregiver, confidant and honorary daughter; Susan (Lawrence) Holtcamp. Her honorary grandchildren Trish (Holtcamp) Perez and Richard of Las Cruces, NM and Jennifer (Holtcamp) Renno and husband Sergeant Kristopher of Fort Braggs, NC. Her seven honorary great grandchildren, Alexandria, Nariah, Richard, Ava, Marc, Addy and Gianna.
She had many, many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and honorary nieces and nephews. She loved anyone she touched in her lifetime.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn (Byers) Bixby and her husband Marvin, Springdale, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 4 brothers.
Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton Iowa, and recently was attending Friends Church of Yorba Linda. Elizabeth was a professional seamstress. She loved to roller skate and ice skate. She and her late husband John founded Zirkelbach Refrigeration, Inc. in 1946, she was involved in sales, customer service, bookkeeping, collecting and financing and the company is stilled part owned by her family. She was a member of the Clinton County Republicans; she was a member of the Clinton Credit Bureau Woman Association. She was a den mother for the Cub Scotts and Boy Scotts and she was a Brownie and Girl Scott leader.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the City of Hope Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation and National Association of Down’s Syndrome.
