Eldo O. Krebs' Obituary
Eldo O. Krebs, 90, of Clinton, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Eagle Point Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Clinton Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Eldo Otto Krebs was born on October 14, 1931 in Durant, Iowa, the son of Eldo E. and Helen (Steinhagen) Krebs. He was a 1950 graduate of Durant High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marines serving from 1952-1954. He married Virginia Twyford on September 18, 1954 in Clinton; she died October 11, 2002. He later married Peggy Schnoor on August 7, 2004 in Clinton.
Eldo was employed at DuPont for many years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ. He enjoyed volunteering at the Rock River Christian Camp in Polo, Illinois. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eldo is survived by his wife: Peggy of Clinton; three daughters: Katherine (Steve) Tiesman of DeSoto, Missouri, Lorraine (Lonny) Boerema of Fulton, Dawn Krebs of Clinton; a son: Michael (Sandi Isenhour) Krebs of Clinton; 7 grandchildren: Jody (Russ Gray) Tiesman, Brandon Tiesman, Leann Boerema, Karen (Andy) Deen, Stacy Boerema, Josh Krebs, and Jared Krebs, 4 great-grandchildren: Jive & Marley Gray, and Kaden & Elsie Deen, a step-son: Kerry Avery of Clinton; his brother: Gaylen (Kathleen) Krebs of California, and his sister: Kathleen (Larry) Amerine of Davenport, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Virginia; a brother: Kenneth, and a sister: Nannette.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Rock River Christian Camp.
