Elaine E. Ballard's Obituary
Elaine E. Ballard, 72, of Camanche, passed away Wednesday, July 22 at her daughter's home.
Private family graveside services will held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. There will be a celebration of her life at the Dykhuizen family reunion in September. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Elaine Eleanor Nice was born on November 2, 1942 in Morrison IL, the daughter of Ellsworth and Marian (Dykhuizen) Nice. She was a graduate of Morrison High School and then attended beauticians school in Chicago. She was a beautician in Morrison for many years.
She married Donald A. Ward in April of 1961, they later divorced. She married Edmond J. Ballard in December of 1980. He passed away May 8, 1991.
She enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, reading and motorcycles.
She is survived by three daughters: Donna Wood of Camanche, Mary (James) Warren of Herrington, Kansas, and Sherri (Jeff) Wetherall of Stockport, Iowa; her son, Will Ward of Clinton; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one brother: Don (Patti Ann) Nice of Morrison; Sisters: Jan (Dave) Mayes of Morrison, Pat (Darrell) Onken of Morrison, and Kathy (Tom) Anderson of Red Wing, Minnesota. Also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Ed), sister Lorraine Gladhill, and her son-in-law Mark Wood.
Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to ABATE of Iowa.
