Edward F. Wedge Jr.'s Obituary
Edward F. Wedge, Jr., 65 of Dubuque and formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at his home in Dubuque. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be if Oakland Cemetery, Clinton.
Ed was born September 24, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edward F and Laura June (Tucker) Wedge, Sr. He was a 1968 Clinton High School graduate and also received his Associates degree from Scott Community College. He married Barbara Grawe in 1977 in Waverly, Iowa.
Ed was a computer programmer at Eastern Iowa Community College District for more than 20 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church; he coached Clinton Junior Baseball and Pony League, he enjoyed billiards and was an avid sports fan but most of all enjoyed being Miles’ grandpa.
Survivors include his ex wife, Barb Wedge of Clinton; daughter, Becky Wedge and grandson, Miles Young both of Clinton; sisters, Mary Jo (Mike) Johnson of Bettendorf, IA; Elizabeth (Bill) Bulat of Rock Island, IL; Carole Craig of Clinton, IA and Laura (Mike) Kuhn of Davenport, IA and nieces, one nephew and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Wedge III in 2000 and his parents.
Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice.
