Edward F. Deering, 78, of Camanche, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 1, 2015 at his home.
A Memorial Mass will be held in the near future.. Honoring Ed's wishes his body was cremated. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Edward Frederick Deering was born on March 5, 1937 in Little Falls, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Mary (Olek) Deering. He married Lorna Schultz on May 4, 1960 in Little Falls, Minnesota. He served in the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1963.
Ed worked at ALCOA for 30 years retiring in 1992.
Ed enjoyed spending the winters in Riviera, Texas with his wife Lorna for the past 23 years. Ed was a avid Cubs fan and loved to go fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog Wrigley.
Edward is survived by his wife: Lorna of Camanche; three children: Adrian (Barb) Deering of Camanche, Brian (Kathy) Deering of Orlando, Florida, and Cheryl (Curt) Allen of DeWitt; 10 grandchildren: Andrea, Jenna, Adrian, Jace, Jalyn, Erin, Gabi, Drew, Teddy, and Austin; two brothers: Clem Deering of Little Falls, Minnesota, and Stanley Deering of Little Falls, Minnesota; two sister-in-laws: Barb Deering and Ann Deering of Little Falls, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brothers, Syl Deering, Con Deering and Alex Deering. Sisters Sarah Wiherski, Eleanore Frey, and Helen Deering.
Memorials can be made to the Church of the Visitation Camanche, IA or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
