Edith M. Ottens' Obituary
Edith Ottens, 90, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Davenport Lutheran Home – Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be Noon on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time Tuesday at the church. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory – Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
Edith Mae Ottens was born on January 22, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Harrington) Jewell. She attended the Clinton schools. She married Eugene Ottens on September 11, 1946 in Camanche.
Edith was employed with Burpee Seed Company, Swifts, and the Bennett Box Company. She also helped her husband in his self-employed painting and drywalling business, and always forgave him for dropping paint in her hair.
Edith was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church where she and her husband ushered for 53 years. She enjoyed bowling, baking, and most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Edith is survived by her husband: Eugene; two daughters: Diana (Richard) Weissenberger and Brenda (Ed Drummond) Brown; 4 grandchildren: Jeff (Cheryl) Harding, Kevin (Carolyn) Harding, Jim (Sarah Hickey) Brown, and Jennifer (Shun) Ammons; numerous great-grandchildren; and her brother: Howard Jewell. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
