Edith Harmon's Obituary
Edith M. Harmon, 74, of Clinton, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at her home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Murray, Jr., Tim Murray, Evan Harmon, Jeff Marsh, Mark Meredith, and Dan Ivory. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Tuesday 9:00am-10:00am at the funeral home. Edith Marion Luce was born on August 10, 1935 in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edgar and Viola (Strause) Luce. She married Edward Harmon on October 18, 1958 in Clinton, Iowa at St. John's Lutheran Church. Edith attended school in Racine, Wisconsin and in Clinton, Iowa. Edith was a homemaker, she also worked part time at the YWCA. Edith enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and her coffee clutch. She was a past member of the First Church of the Nazarene and attended the Open Bible Fellowship. Edith is survived by her husband Edward of Clinton; two sons: Michael (Cheryl) Harmon of Clinton, Iowa; and Pastor Stephen (Michelle) Harmon of Morrison, Illinois; and three grandchildren: Kelsey, Evan, and Paige Harmon; special nephew: Jeff Marsh and nieces: Nancy and Laurie. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Memorials can be made to Genesis Hospice.
