Edith Alessio's Obituary
Edith E. Alessio, 80, of Camanche, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Chuck Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Shawn, Jason, Ryan, Connor, and Ashley Bruggenwirth. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time Monday at the funeral home. Edith Elaine Courts was born on December 11, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Reginald and Vera (Attwater) Courts. She married Max Bruggenwirth, he later died in 1969. She later married Louis Alessio. Edith was a seamstress at the Clinton Garment Factory for many years. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Camamche. She also enjoyed bowling and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved so much. Edith is survived by her husband: Louis Alessio of Clinton; one son: Gail (Beth) Bruggenwirth of Camanche; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three step-children: Tim, Nancy, and Jackie; her sister: Mildred (Larry) Wilson of Camanche and several nieces and nephews. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, one husband, one brother, and one sister.
