Edgar Ross' Obituary
Edgar Ross died at his home March 1, 2010, at the age of 87. A graveside service will be held at Springdale Cemetery at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 4 with Pastor Michael Holm of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Before the service, visitation with the family will be held at a luncheon at the Fellowship Hall of the church starting at 11:30 am. Edgar was born February 23, 1923 in Butternut, Wisconsin to Edgar and Agnes Ross. He married Ruth Klinner June 7, 1948 in Medford, Wisconsin. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army with the 42nd Infantry Division (Rainbow) in the U.S. and Europe during World War II. He taught at Greenbelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland and served as Assistant Education Advisor at the U.S. Army Ordinance School in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and as Education Advisor at the Ammunitions School, Savanna Army Depot, Illinois. Survivors include his wife Ruth, and two daughters, Nancy (Gary) Fredricks of Washougal, Washington and Susan Ross-Barta (Robert) of Iowa City, Iowa. His sister, Marian Nelson of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, preceded him in death.
