Earl L. Spencer's Obituary
Earl L. Spencer, 71, of Clinton passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Spencer, Clayton Spencer, Jenna Spencer, Allison Spencer, Handy Ehredt and Alec Fritze. Honorary pallbearers will be Billie James and Andra Ehredt. Earl LeRoy Spencer was born November 16, 1950 in Lexington, Missouri, the son of Earl L. and Christine (Watt) Spencer, Sr. He was a 1968 graduate of Camanche High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973. He married Edwina Holt on July 12, 1971 in Clinton, Iowa. He worked for Local #83 as a Boilermaker.
Earl was a member of the American Legion in Clinton. He liked playing his guitar and singing and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting..
He is survived by his wife Edwina Spencer of Clinton; two children: Andra (Handy) Ehredt of Clinton and Bryan (Tammy) Spencer of Bryant, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Clayton, Jenna, Allison, Skylar, Alec, Mia and Macala; sister: Margaret (Ron) Bees of Omaha, Nebraska and half-sister: Laura (Gary) Sneed of Richmond, Missouri.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: William Spencer and Kenneth Anderson and sister Gail Kohrt.
