Earl L. Roseland, 94, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation Burial will be in the Elvira Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers wil be David Nance, Wade Leslie, Adam Ehredt, Kris Kalina and Bryan Donavan Honorary Pallbearers Karlyn Kalina, Ben Roseland, Jackson Roseland, Reynaldo Batista, Seth Connell and Tristan Connell. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-6:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Earl Lavern Roseland was born on September 27, 1928 in Scott County, Iowa, the son of Marcus and Anna (Gronewald) Roseland. He married Mona “Jean” Lilly on October 31, 1948 in Elvira; she died on January 13, 2013.
Earl was a blacksmith welder on the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 23 ½ years; retiring in 1986.
Earl was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation; he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing cards. In his younger years, he enjoyed dancing with the love of his life, Jeanie.
Earl is survived by his nine children: Michael Earl (Sara) Roseland of Little Hocking, OH; William Roseland of Clinton; James (Theresa) Roseland of Clinton; Mary Leslie Douglas Rittierodt (David Rittierodt) of Montgomery, Texas; Margie (Don) Nance of Clinton; Bonnie (Leonard ) Kalina-Quick of Clinton; Kathy Roseland of Clinton; Julie (Don) Connell of Camanche and Angie (George) Burke of Milton, Wisconsin; 37 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law: Robert Lilly of Clinton, and sister-in-laws: Helen Lilly of California and Laura Lilly of Nevada, Julie Claus of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and nine siblings.
