Dorothy M. Wallace, 85, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Dorothy Maryjane Towers was born March 12, 1937 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, the daughter of James and Florence (Townsend) Towers. She graduated high school in Queens, New York and worked an office job there. She met her husband Raymond Wallace and they were married on May 9, 1959 in Queens, New York; he preceded her in death in 2015. She and Raymond moved to the Clinton area when Raymond’s job transferred to Iowa. Once in Iowa, Dorothy worked in daycare and then babysat in her own home while she was raising her daughter. She enjoyed time spent with children.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She enjoyed taking many group trips out of Clinton and time spent traveling to see her daughter and grandchildren. She and Raymond enjoyed dinner with friends after church and their weekly card games.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Randeep)Ghai of Southborough, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Surya and Sasha; sister: Florence (Ed) Morrell of Boca Raton, Florida; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers: James, George and Donald Towers.
