Dorothy Truninger, 95, of Clinton, passed away at home, Friday, January 9, 2026.
Private Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Dorothy Rajcevich was born on June 10, 1930, in Bellwood, Illinois, the daughter of Mike and Mildred (Peavich) Rajcevich. She was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School and attended Clinton Community College. She married Edward Truninger on July 12, 1953, in Clinton; he passed away on October 24, 2014.
Dorothy worked at the Clinton Garment Factory from 1948 to 1987, she also worked at Farm and Fleet. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and formerly Chancy Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards and yoga.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Mark (Gina) Truninger of Clinton and Jeffery (Lynn) Truninger of Roseville, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Derek (Aria) Truninger, Matt (Randi) Truninger, Tricia (Mike) DuToit and Tim (Jessi) Truninger; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; her brother: Eli Rajcevich of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Joe, Mike, George, John, and Nick; and four sisters: Ruby, Mildred, Sophie, and Helen.
Memorials can be made to the YWCA in appreciation for keeping her young.
