Dorothy E. Noecker's Obituary
Dorothy E. Noecker, 91 of Clinton, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at Mercy One – Clinton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, on Friday, February 2, at Zion Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Dorothy Elaine Watkins was born on February 10, 1932, in Harmony, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Stanley and Ocea (Seeyle) Watkins. She was a 1950 graduate of Harmony High School and later from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN in 1954. Dorothy married Robert Noecker on February 6, 1954 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas; he passed away January 8, 2009.
Dorothy was a teacher with the Clinton Community School district for 22 years. She taught at Horace Mann, Henry Sabin and Kirkwood. Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and flute. Dorothy was an avid bridge player playing in several bridge clubs. She had many good friends and enjoyed cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Dorothy and Bob enjoyed many great years in Naples, FL during their retirement.
Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her 5 children: Randy (Deb) Noecker of Longville, MN; Terrie Tatum of Prairie Village, KS; Jane Noecker of Clinton, IA; Lori (Tim) Zeutenhorst of Orange City, IA; and Jeff Noecker of Clinton IA; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
