Dorothy Nelson's Obituary
Dorothy M. Nelson, 96, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Prairie Hills – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 3:00pm, Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephan Alm, Trenton Alm, Hunter Alm, Raymond Nelson, Keenan Flint, and Cory Lassen. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00pm at the funeral home.
Dorothy Fisher was born on February 6, 1924 in Kansas the daughter of Homer and and Sarah (Cleveland) Fisher. She married Keith Cook who was killed in World War II; she later married Raymond Nelson on July 1, 1952 in Clinton; he died July 8, 1984.
Dorothy worked at the Clinton Garment Company as a seamstress for over 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church – Camanche and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter: Ida Jane (Paul) Howson of Camanche, her son: Greg (Cathy) Nelson of Camanche; six grandchildren: Christina McBurney of Winterset, Cherie (Keenan) Flint of Hiawatha, Stephan (Dawn) Alm of Camanche, Jeff Alm of Camanche, Raymong (Megan) Nelson of Fulton, and Sarah (Cory) Lassen of Low Moor; six great-grandchildren: Hunter & Trenton Alm, Sawyer & Tucker Lassen, and Ethan & Garrett Nelson; and her sister: Barbara Booth of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her daughter, two sisters, a brother, and a grandson.
