Dorothy Harrington's Obituary
Dorothy (Dee) S. Harrington, 83, of Clinton died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home in Clinton. There will be no services. Cremation will take place at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Dee was born on November 21, 1924 in Gary, Indiana to James and Minna (Ziegler) Harrington. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and married David H. Sivright in 1943. They were divorced in 1970 and she later married William J. Stevens in 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada; he died on April 30, 2003. Dee and William were employed by Illinois Mutual Insurance Company. Following their retirement, they operated a travel agency in Overland Park, Kansas, and traveled extensively. Dee was an accomplished bridge player and patron of the Kansas City Symphony. She is survived by her two sons, David H. (Kathleen) Sivright Jr. of Clinton and Peter Sivright of Surfers Paradise, Australia; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one son, Timothy, and one daughter, Laura. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of Clinton.
