Dorothy J. Gregory, 96, of Clinton died Friday, February 06, 2009 at Mercy Living Center-South in Clinton. Funeral services will be 6:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Fred Schauer officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 9, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Camanche Chapel. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service. Dorothy Jeanette Gregory was born on July 15, 1912 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of August and Jeanette (Rasmussen) Peters. She married Burrell Brooks in Berrien County, MI in 1935 and George Marik Sr. in Hartford, MI on October 19, 1946; he died in 1980. She later married Jesse Gregory in Davenport, IA in December 1981; he died in 1992. She was employed with the Clinton County Care Facility for over 20 years, and had also been employed with the paper mill in Watervilet, MI. She enjoyed spending time with her coffee group, her children, and her many grandchildren. She was a loving person and will be dearly missed. She is survived by one son: Terry W. (Sandy) Brooks of Camanche; 2 step-sons: George (Verdella) Marik Jr. of Marseilles, IL, and Robert A. (Karla) Marik of Camanche; 4 grandchildren: Terry M. (Jennifer) Brooks of Bettendorf, IA, Guy M. Brooks of Chicago, IL, Jill (Douglas) Witt of Clinton, and Julie Brooks of Camanche; nephew: Regis (Mary) Kniebes of Paw Paw Lake, MI; niece: Karen (Jerry) Rosenbaum of Coloma, MI; 10 step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her 3 husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Eleanor Burnsworth, Brother-in-law: Robert Burnsworth, nephew: Wylie “Jr” Higginbottom, and step-grandson: Dean Marik.
