Doris R. Wilson's Obituary
Doris R. Wilson, 93, of Camanche, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Mercy Living Center – South.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Chancy Lutheran Church with Rev. Fred Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Wolf, Robert A. Wilson, Merle Ocken, Dave Garrett, Chris Garrett, and Paul Anderson Visitation will be Monday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Doris R. Froeschle was born on August 13, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Florence (Healless) Froeschle. She was a 1938 graduate of Clinton High School. She was married to Edward Bruggenwirth. He died on May 20, 1945 in World War II in Okinawa. She married Woodrow “Woody” Wilson on December 22, 1951 in Clinton. He died April 17, 2001.
Doris was a secretary for Bill Price at the Camanche Schools in the elementary/middle school building. She was also a secretary at DuPont.
Doris was a charter member of Chancy Lutheran Church, the AMVETS Auxillary and the Women of the Moose.
Doris is survived by a son, Robert A. (Kim) Wilson of Camanche, a daughter, Laurie (Tom) Wolf of Clinton, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister, Shirley Garrett of Camanche, and nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law, Donna Bruggenwirth of Henderson, Nevada, sister-in-law, Joanne Froeschle of Clinton, and step-son: Tom (Robbie) Wilson of Albany, Illinois.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, one brother, and two sisters, and a stepson.
The family suggests that memorials can be made to Chancy Lutheran Church or Harmony House.
