Doris F. Houser's Obituary
Doris F. Houser, 93, of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Mercy North-Clinton. Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, visitation will be held from 10AM until the service hour Wednesday. Doris Dwire was born December 5, 1925 in Clinton, the daughter of Alfred and Leona (Neumann) Dwire. She was educated in the Clinton Public School system. Doris married Russell Houser on September 14, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa; Russell died November 8, 1996.
She was employed at International Paper for 22 ½ years retiring in 1980. In later years she did food and product demonstrations in local stores, including Jewel, HyVee and Walmart. She also worked in the cafeteria for the Clinton Schools.
She was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Marant of Abbeville, LA; Russell (Kristal) Houser of Clinton, IA; Raymond (Kathy) Houser of Willis, TX and Dr. Julia (Harold) Black of Carbon Cliff, IL; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and her very, very special friend Jim Brown of Clinton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Reed Houser and her siblings.
Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice.
