Doris Goers' Obituary
Doris L. Goers, 82, of Clinton, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Mercy Living Center, South. Funeral Services will be 1:30pm, Monday, December 22, 2008 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Elizabeth Liggett officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Goers, Curt Vath, Tony Vath, Gary Vath, Jeff Vath, Bruce Buntemeyer, Dennis Rupert and Brian Rupert. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Doris Lorraine Lauritsen was born on July 4, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Lena (Passick) Lauritsen. She married Harold Goers on June 24, 1950 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton, Iowa. Doris was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a homemaker. Doris was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cub fan. Doris is survived by her husband: Harold of Clinton; her son: David (Lynn) Goers of Morton, Illinois, her daughter: Denise Sievers of Freeport, Illinois, and her grandchildren: Justin (Beth) Goers and Megan (Brad) Bomer. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
