Doris Charlson's Obituary
Doris F. Charlson, 88, of Clinton died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be 10:30, Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Doris Freda Werderman was born on November 20, 1922 in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Fredrich Nicholas and Stella Grace (Smith) Werderman. She attended Anamosa and Clinton schools graduating from Clinton High School in 1941. She married Preston William Charlson on March 22, 1941 in Maquoketa; he died on September 22, 1969. Doris was employed in housekeeping with Jane Lamb Hospital from 1975 until retiring in November 1982. She is survived by her four children: Deloris "Dee" (David) Schimdt of Clinton, Kaalen "Kaa" (Richard) Junge of Camanche, Kenneth (Anita) Charlson of Clinton and Diane (Steven) Birdsley of Clinton; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: Delbert Werderman of Arcadia, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandchild, two sisters and one brother. Memorials may be made to Wyndcrest Hall-way decorating committee.
