Donna J. Cherveny's Obituary
Donna J. Cherveny, 86, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at MercyOne – Clinton.
A private family service was held. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Donna Jean Brack was born on August 23, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Clement and Elsie (Lehman) Brack. She was a graduate of Iowa City High and completed her nursing training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She married James D. Cherveny on August 10, 1963 in Newton; he died January 26, 2022.
Donna dedicated her life in helping her patients as a Registered Nurse with Mercy Hospital for over 30 years retiring in 2009.
Donna was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan with her husband and was a collector of colbalt blue glass art.
Donna is survived by her three children: Brian (Deb) Cherveny of Montgomery, Texas, Jamie (Curt) Burkhart of Clinton, Iowa, Tony (Kris) Cherveny of Rock Island, Illinois, four grandchildren: Brandon (Hannah) Burkhart of Iowa City, Iowa, Taylor (Michael) Beem of Naperville, Illinois, Tracy Green of Houston, Texas, and Leah (Edonis) Smith of Huntsville, Texas.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Judith.
