Donna Blake's Obituary
Donna Blake, 83, of Low Moor, Iowa, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton.
Memorial services will be held at 10am Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Low Moor United Methodist Church, Low Moor, IA. Burial of the cremains will be in the Elvira Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donna was born November 23, 1925 in Clarence, Iowa the daughter of Wilfred and Essie (Clemmens) Liercke. She was a Clarence High School graduate. Donna married Howard Blake in Clarence, Iowa on February 15, 1947; he died February 27, 1980.
Donna was employed as the secretary at Cargill Hybrid Seed for 20 years, she retired in 1989. She was a member of the Low Moor United Methodist Church, was a former member of the DeWitt Bowling Association and was an active volunteer.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Dave) Petersen of Goose Lake, Iowa; son, Robert (Helen) Blake of Belleview, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Becky, Chad, Kristi and Brandi; 4 great grandchildren, Megan, Joe, Jason and Blake and great great grandson, Lukas. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the church.
