Donald Allen Winter's Obituary
Donald Allen Winter, 77, of Clinton, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at his home.
Services will be held 10:30AM Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, Visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Brandon, Rachel and Kyle Winter and Bob Winter, Tyler Miller and Jim Winter. Don was born July 29, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harold and Roberta (Point) Winter, Sr. He was a Clinton High School graduate. Don married Donna Kane on April 25, 1964 in Clinton.
He had been employed at Clinton Corn Processing, was a custodian with the Clinton Schools for many years a most recently was a Hy-Vee Pharmacy delivery driver.
Don was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and former member of the Clinton Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, day trips to the Dells, Disney and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Clinton; son, Terry (Carol) Winter of Clinton; grandchildren, Brandon Winter of Clinton; Rachel Winter of Clinton and Kyle (Julia Erickson) Winter of Iowa City; brother, Tom (Debra) Winter of Camanche; sisters, Jolie (Dave) Austin of Amelia, VA and Becky (Paul) Miller of Clinton and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie in 1996, his parents and brothers, Harold Jr., Bob and Jim.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
