Donald A. Rockrohr's Obituary
Donald A. Rockrohr, 73, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 4:00-6:00pm in the Tuscany at Rastrelli’s. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Alvin Rockrohr was born on May 1, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Grace (Gruhn) Rockrohr. He was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Margo Rochrohr on October 14, 1961 in Sabula, Iowa.
Don worked at DuPont in the finishing department for 33 years. Prior to that he was employed at Central Steel and Tubing.
Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and visiting the casino.
Don is survived by his wife: Margo of Clinton, his son: Kevin (Nancy) Rockrohr of Sabula, his daughter: Dawn (Greg) Carmichael of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren: Chase & Cole Rockrohr, and Mariah & Jared Carmichael; his mother-in-law: Jane Petersen of Clinton; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-laws: Larry (Shirley) Peterson of Sabula, Sherry (John) Horst of Sabula, Richard (Donna) Peterson of Sabula, and Mary Lou (Gordon) Parks of Clinton; and nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
