Donald Eskew's Obituary
Donald Ernest Eskew, 65, of Clinton, Iowa died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30am Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm Wednesday, September 28, 2011 and from 9:30am until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery Don was born September 24, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ernest Durwood and Sylvia Pearl (Birch) Eskew. Don married Gloria Pope October 28, 1963 in Missouri. He was employed at International Paper for 39 years until they closed. He later was employed with ADM until retiring in 2007. Donald was a member of the Church of the Open Door, he coached Pee Wee, Little League Baseball in Clinton for many years and his teams were city champs every year he coached, he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed golfing and enjoyed working with stained glass. Don did the stained glass lights at Lyon’s Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; daughter, Dawn Kazoleas of Irvine, CA; son, Donald (Julie) Eskew of Camanche, IA; grandchildren, Megan, Dylan, Corinne, Christian and Cody; mother, Sylvia Eskew of Elgin, IL; mother-in-law, Aletta Olson of Clinton, brothers, Ron (Joan) Eskew of Texarkana, Arkansas, George (Bobbie) Eskew of Elgin, IL and John (Vicki) Eskew of St. Charles, IL; sisters-in-law, Fran Eskew of San Diego, CA and Mitzi (Randy) Richter of Clinton; brother-in-law, Mike Pope of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, David and father-in-law, Maynard V. Olson.
